I do not like the fact that when a lot of people read her books, they seem to forget that it is historical fiction, and seem to believe that it is historical fact. This is not her fault, as she does herself say that it is historical fiction.
I love how she describes people, places and events. I do feel that she paints an overall picture of Tudor and Stuart court life at the time, even with certain creative liberties taken with actual historical events. Nothing wrong there; it IS , after all, fiction.
Some of the chapters truly do make you feel like you are there with the characters in the novel, experiencing life. There is very much an art to that kind of creativity.
